This was the special during my latest visit. It is served in the standard GB glass. The beer is rusty amber with a skim of tan head and clumpy lacing.

The aroma is of wood smoke and lightly toasted malts.

I like the taste! Wood smoke layered on top of a solid lager. It is slightly sweet and nutty. The taste improves as it warms.

The mouth may be a bit over carbonated, but has just enough heft. May not be a session beer, but tasty enough for me to have a two.

The bartender said this one was a bit of a tough sell to the BMC crowd, but folks that liked beer really liked this one.. I can see why. Well done!

Served a nice amber with a thick slightly tan head with nice lacing.

Smell. The smoke really comes out, but is not overwhelming. Has a nice woody aroma, hickory-like.

Taste. The smoke flavor is present but more subtle than i thought. Flavor has a small sweetness to it, but the smoked malts seem to also dry out the flavor.

Mouthfeel. Body is crisp and medium. Good amount of carbonation.

Overall, a nice beer among the masses in new orleans. i like their regular marzen, but this has a nice twist to it.
