"From 5:30pm-9:00pm on Thursday, January 31st, Gordon Biersch will have raffles and, of course, Dave’s Pale Ale! A portion of the proceeds of Dave’s Pale Ale will go the CNY Food Bank. Samples of Dave’s Pale Ale and select passed appetizers will be available.
'The Syracuse crowd has been phenomenal; we are so excited to be here and introduce our unique ales and lagers at Destiny USA,' Dave Collins, Brew Master of Gordon Biersch stated. 'We’ve got a special product here and brewing it right on site is definitely a local show-stopper for our guests.'"
Had this beer the day after being released @ Destiny USA
The beer pours a hazy dark amber with an inch of white head. There is a slight citrusy hoppiness that transitions into a caramel apple as it warms...as described. The taste is clean and crisp with a sweet, hoppy, malty finish. It has light-medium bodied (probably the heaviest body of any Gordon Biersch beer) with a modesty bitter, slightly citrusy/floral hop profile. A pint of strong pale ale for $4 is an excellent deal. I typically enjoy Gordon Biersch for their lagers, as that's typically the only house brewed styles available. However, this was a nice surprise to see on the menu and I hope to see it again in the future.
