I've had this both on tap from their brewpub in Tel Aviv and bottled by Berliner Bierfabrik for Dancing Camel. The bottled beer is actually quite different from what I had on tap a good year ago. Not sure if they changed the recipe since then and it's the same on tap now or if the bottled beer really is very different from it. I will be reviewing the bottled beer, which is brewed with chili, orange rind and coriander.

Pours a hazy, dark orange coloration with a large frothy head. Smells faintly of orange rind and chili. Taste is light and hoppy, with notes of orange rind, coriander and chili. Orange rind is most noticeable at first, with the coriander only coming through as a light herbaceous note. The chili builds as you drink, starting of light, but becoming quite spicy in the aftertaste, leaving a pleasant, tingling sensation on your tongue without being overpowering at all. This is actually a Wit beer spiced up with chili and a fairly well-balanced one at that, very nice.

This is basically the hot-spice version of their Gordon Beach blonde ale. I wasn't expecting to like it, but I did! I had two half-liters of it! Set me back more than a few bucks, but I'm kind of a sucker for spicy beers. Plus the Patriot ale was a bit disappointing.

Note that this beer was also a hit with the generally non-beer drinkers in our crowd!

Tap at the brewery when I was in Israel a few months back, reviewed from notes.

Very little head, cloudy orange watery brown color.

Nose grainy woody, bit peppery like green and hot pepper, juicy malt, bit syrupy sweet malt.

Taste hot pepper right away, spicy, nice pepper seed flavor, decent blond malt, almost roasted chili pepper, little watery, some wheat. Pepper is nice, beer underneath is way too light for it's own good.

Mouth is bit watery, decent carb.
