Oak is pretty far in the background, to the point I'm not sure I get it. Overall malty with dark fruits, dusted with cocoa and caramel, all a little muddled or stale flavored, with a thin feel.

12 oz bottle poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottled Oct 05 15.
Pours a murky brown color with barely a half finger of foam that fades quickly. Aroma is a mix of sweet brown malt and hints of oak, vanilla. As it warms, a bit more of a chocolately aroma comes off.
First sip, sweet, oaky, slightly tannic. Primary flavor component is a toffee like sweetness. Oak is present but takes a back seat. Thinner bodied than expected and not nearly as boozy as I expected. This finishes surprisingly smooth, with low bitterness.
I feel like this could benefit from a little more oakiness, but overall this is a pretty good beer, especially for it being so young and 10% ABV. It has the flavor profile of an Imperial Brown Ale, with a little bit of vanilla/oak. It's basically a malt bomb.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass... printed on the bottle is "bottled: oct 12 15". Not sure if that should be 2014 or best by. anyway...
A: Dark brown with a two-finger head that slowly settles to a creamy lacing
S: Roasted grains, molasses, cherry and a hint of vanilla
T: Largely matches the nose though sweet with the molasses/vanilla up front then the cherry then the grain
M: Full-bodied, sweet
O: This reminds me much more of a sweet Old Ale than a Brown Ale. This would make a good dessert beer. I finished it, albeit slowly

Nice dark brown. Mild caramel odor. Poured with almost no head. Carbonation was low. Lacing was moderate. Very malty with strong caramel background and some cocoa, Very mild oak flavor, which was hard to detect. Sweet with little hops coming through.

Very nice dark brown look. Smell was off putting, kind reminiscent of cat food. Taste was milky and dull. Feel was kind of slimy with no carbonation. Not very good at all.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a dark brown with some ruby hues; small off-white head that fades leaving basically no retention or lacing. The aromas are pretty malty. Cocoa and caramel in the mix along with some dark fruits. Subtle oak notes. The flavors are full of sweet malts. Black cherries are in the mix. Raisins and fig is there. More caramel and chocolate. Hints of oak, but it's not overwhelming. It's not hot or boozy. Mouthfeel is on the thinner side of full-bodied; moderate carbonation. Pretty smooth and easy to drink.
This is an alright beer. I will say I seem to enjoy it the more I drink it. It's solid, but nothing crazy. I like their Imperial Nut Brown Ale much more, for what it's worth.
