NO LONGER RETIRED
22oz bottle from"LifeSouce" in Salem. $4.99 Clear Lyle Syrup golden coloured ale with a large, thick ,rocky white head. Pretty reasonable nose on this a lot of rich caramel type malts and good semi-resiny hop. Nicely balanced taste..mainlly caramel malts then followed up by resin/citric hops in the end. Pleasant enough. Well carbonated and good palate. A nice enough pale more towards the balanced side.

Had this one in Portland along side a chili beer by Calapooia. First time i've heard of them as a brewery, and I wouldn't be surprised to see this available everywhere in Oregon in a couple years. Maybe even other states in the next 5. Really good balanced flavor. Malt is just enough to balance the hops, which are kinda big. Definitly a PacNW Pale ale, with a good hop preference.
I really enjoyed this, like I said. It'll go great with any type of food and I recommend you grab some if you can find it (or are in the Albany, Or area)

A very agreeable and smooth pale ale with rounded contours and graceful fruitiness. Bittering is gently restrained for purposes of balance only hop flavor is not emphasized. Both the pale amber color and the breezy fragrance suggest apricot. Low CO2 with scant showing of suds. A downright friendly beer worthy of your daily regimen.
