while nothing extraordinairy, this beer delivers plenty of dark chocolate and vanilla, with some decent licorice and light hoppy bitterness on the finish. Didn't pick up a lot of barrel aging (the menu says it's BA), but on nitro this was very smooth, and very easy to drink. Nice beer from the folks at Calap;oola.

Had this tasty brew with my lunch today.
Came in a pint glass, pitch black with a thin, mocha colored head, that left heavy lacing down the glass. Smell is surprisingly light, a faint bit of hops, but mostly dark malt. Taste is very toasted malt, faint coffee & cocoa notes become more apparent as it warms, as does the 9.5% abv. Mouthfeel is very smooth, somewhat moist on the finish. Drinkability is interesting. It goes down so smooth and easy, almost surprisingly so for such a strong beer. Be careful with this one, it'll sneak up on you, but if you are a fan of good RIS' then you will no doubt enjoy this one.
