Look: Jet black on the pour, which initiates a booming light brown head that holds as a pillow and slowly recedes, leaving a nice coating of lacing behind
Aroma: Cold-brewed coffee, baker’s cocoa, roast, warmed brown bread, cinnamon, earthiness, and a light herbaceous note
Taste: Dark chocolate and coffee combine for the first hit and come on strong as waves of bready malt, roast, and cinnamon crash in and join the fold. Light herbaceous notes and earthiness weave in and out throughout and closes with more coffee and cocoa
Mouthfeel: Full, silky smooth, medium-high carbonation, and smooth and soft on the finish
Overall: This is good stuff. I’ve seen this beer for awhile but hadn’t tried it yet so figured after a day in the high 20s/low 30s, the time had come and it didn’t disappoint. Very coffee-forward and the chocolate notes blend in well with the added cinnamon and cardamom (per can description) all in a smooth and easy-drinking package. Try it out
