Poured from tap into pint glass at Nano-brew festival PDX.
Wowie! What a surprise! Pours a dark amber hue with a generous amount head, decent retention, and good lace. Really aggressive and exciting nose with resinous pine scented hops, rye toast notes, red fruit and light citrus hints. Palate confirms with appreciable amounts of hops backed by citrus and yeast and framed nicely by the rye.
The texture is nearly spot on perfect, rich yet balanced with the alcohol present but not up in your face. Tannins fade away nicely on the long finish.
This is a very good rye ale and deserves to be produced year round. What a find!
