I tried a half pour of this beer off the tapper at the brewery with my wife and her old colleague whilst in the area for my daughter's WIAC conference finals gymnastics meet at Hamline University. It poured an opaque dark mahogany amber with tan head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had nice roast and chocolate notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet chocolate malt base with roast and coffee profile. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer!

I have never had a rye beer before, but this was phenomenal. The bitterness was not overwhelming, and the rye taste balanced nicely in the porter. Poured on tap at the brewery.
