330 ml bottle, from Ales By Mail. ABV is 8.9%. Late hopped with Bramling Cross. Black colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of roast malts, exotic woodwork, chocolate, blackcurrants and mild spices. Smooth mouthfeel, pleasant level of carbonation. The flavour is roasty and slightly dry, notes of wood, coffee and dark chocolate. Some bittering hops.

Served just below room temperature into a tulip glass.
L) Very dark reddish cola- black, very opaque with thin to non-existent film. Little carbonation evident.
S) Fruity dark malts.
T) Very nice and balanced. Dark rich malt is up first, roasted bitterness comes in after a second or two, but is not overpowering. Finished with a nutty, burnt slightly warm aftertaste. No hop bitterness, very nicely done.
F) A reasonably heft to the mouthfeel, again nicely balanced with a bit of fizz. Spot on.
O) Saltaire's standard beers have been a bit hit and miss for me, but this is excellent and recommended to any stout fan.
