L- Looks black at first, held right by a halogen it's ultra-deep ruby. Pours clear with a 3-5mm head.
S- Massive chocolate. Like sniffing a glass of good quality chocolate milk.
T- Woh! Pungent, dark, swiftly into that^ chocolate milk again that morphs into a deeeep and dark pungent chocolate/dark cocoa.
F- Deep, dark, pungent, palate-sating, perfect winter-warmer. CO2 in mouth is good.
O- Pungent and lovely, would make a great dessert beer or winter-beer able to stand up for itself next to a curry dinner. It's a milk stout but has nothing of that over-sweet lactose thing going on some Milk Stout's do. Very nice, I'd happily drink again. Just one thing, the lable only lists three ingredients, the 'Allergens': barley, oats and wheat - that makes me wonder why. Now, the big question is, is the big chocolate note here from the roasting of the grain, or is it (as some brewers do) from added cocoa nibs (ie beans). If they've achieved this without 'cheating', by adding cocoa nibs, then it's really quite something.
