Nice golden color with a big foamy head. Lots of carbonation visible. In the nose: Apple, citrus are present, nice smell. Good taste, but a bit underwhelming. Apple and fruits are still present in the mouth, good carbonation. Not a bad beer at all, but for the price I'd rather get the classic Fin du Monde.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Poured from a 341ml. bottle.

Appearance: Lots of white foam fills the glass and looks whipped a bit, like fluffy clouds atop a hazy golden body.

Smell: Peach, banana, some spices and apple. A bit too mild for my taste.

Taste: Peaches & cloves with lots of other spices swirling around. Overripe fruit is quite strong as it warms and tastes good.

Mouthfeel: Lots of carbonation but a strong presence in the palate.

Overall: I like this one. Nothing spectacular but a nice Belgian representation.

The beer pours a solid gold color with fairly good head retention and decent lacing. The nose is attractive in this beer, showing honey, vanilla and light apricot. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely in this fairly sweet beer, though I also get a hint of hoppy bitterness in the finish. It's a bit one dimensional (the flavor profile), but what I get is pretty attractive (mostly honey and apricot). Mouthfeel is medium bodied to full, with a fairly long finish. Drinkability is pretty good, as the alcohol is well integrated into the flavor profile. However, the beer is definitely on the sweet side, and that wears me out a bit after a while.

Nothing mind blowing here, but this was still a pretty nice beer I thought.

The beer is a rich gold color that is quite clear. It has a pale, off-white colored head. The aroma is nice as it has a subtle infusion of spices; herbal, peppery and fruity (a mix of berry, juniper, apple, some pear and lots of orange zest aromatics) make for a very complex nose. The nose smells sweet too and I really like the mix of citrus, herbal, and hint of earthy coriander character that it has.

The flavor is sweet with a honey-like malt character, some pear and apple flavors, as well as lots of clove, lots of general spiciness, berry notes, fresh orange zest and some orange blossom touches. There is a faint bitterness and, along with the spiciness, provides some balance to the up front fruit flavors. This is nice and I find myself enjoying this beer despite the fact that the spices dominate the profile of this beer

Bottle: Poured a dirty hazy light copper color ale with a medium foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of medium sweet malt base with light fruit ester and a bready and lightly spicy yeast. Taste is also an enjoyable mix between a light sweet malt backbone with subtle notes of peach and apricot ester and a light spicy finish. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well done though additional character and a bigger malt backbone could have improve this beer.

341ml 2008 Mondial de la Bière Gold Medalist.

A-Nice white doughy head. Golden liquid. Scattered lacing. After a while some yeast settled at the bottom of my glass.
S- Yeast right up front. Light grain. Hops. A bit chemical-y.
T- Strong alcohol taste and after-taste. Hops.
M-Very enjoyable. Strong but smooth carbonation. Viscous.
D- A bit too strong an alcohol taste to want a few. But I would want to have it again. Drinks easy - be careful with these or you'll get wasted.

Very good but not sure if it really is prizeworthy. (But hey, I'm not the pro here).

Color is golden yellow, veiled. Nice white head, but disappear fast. The aroma is banana with some spices. A little bit complex, I'm not getting everything here. Taste is similar: spices and some banana. Still a complex taste in my opinion. Not a bad tripel quite good. The drinkability is high for a tripel.

From a 341 ml brown bottle bought at Grand Duc for 2,99$.

This beer has a nice golden colour, I've seen Tripel with less colour than this one. The head is lasting. The nose is very spicy, coriander, orange peel, some grain. The mouth is good, it has some strange flavor of orange peel. Overall a nnice brew but it missed the mark for a great tripel, but it's easy too drink and that's a quality.

Appearance: Perfectly translucent golden, with a thin but clingy white lace.

Smell: Coriander, orange peel, maybe some clove and mustard seed, all mixed in with a pleasing bready, yeasty nose. Textbook tripel, at least in my personnal definition of the style

Taste: Mid to high carbonation and very clean, maybe too much so, filtering it out seemed to have inhibited the yeast to leave too big a mark in the flavor profile. Body is sweet but in a very subdued manner, just enough to give it some body. Spices and green, grassy hops come forth in the finish, very low alcohol burn makes this tripel dangerously drinkable.
