Nice carbonation with a pale-amber color, but way too big of an head, maybe it's only because of the way I transported it since I just bought it one hour earlier. Doesn't smell that good, there's not an explosion of hop, in fact you don't smell hops that much, there's also a subtle caramel malt aroma. In the mouth it doesn't taste like an hoppy beer at all. It got some bitterness but it's not really a pleasant one. Nice malt flavor though, so there's that.
Like others have mentionned, it feels a little bit more like an English IPA rather than an American one, which is not what the brewer was trying to do...

Bottle: Poured a bright blonde color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of citrus and grapefruit notes with some light bitter notes. Taste is also quite dominated by some citrus notes with some grapefruit and some light residual sugar notes. Hops were maybe not as floral as I would have liked but were still quite enjoyable. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not top of the class but still pretty enjoyable beer.

The beer is copper in color. Pretty dark copper. Nice sticky head. Looks good. The head is beige.
The aroma is dominated by citrus with some earthy notes. Somewhat woody. Not bad, not great too.
The taste is dominated by the woods. Not sure I like it. It's more English than west coast if you ask me. Bitter. Slightly fruity but not enough to qualify for west coast. Quite effervescent in the mouth. Good beer. Average at best. Too costly for what it provides in enjoyment of drinking...
Cheers.

Pours a deep amber color, with a huge head, not perfectly white.
Nose is a bit grapey. Smells like there's some acetaldehyde going on. Bottle was delivered today, and bottling date mentions march 2013, so 2 months old before shipping an IPA. I suspect the acetaldehyde level must have been very high so they waited to ship till it would settle.
You get the same feeling while drinking it. Definitely not acceptable. Mentions it's a west coast IPA. Tastes like an hybrid between an english IPA and a Quebec IPA, i'm guessing ringwood yeast, and maybe some frontenac malt were used? Whatever the problem is, it's simply not working....
Drainpoured half of it, a pretty similar (but still better) brew to la chouape IPA.
