Opaque dark brown growing closer to orange near the edges of the glass. Supple khaki cream atop.
Roasted malts and suppressed fruits on the nose. Fruits disappear over time.
Mocha hues right away in the mouth. Stays this way throughout. Simple but not bad. Oily raisin fruitness hits the tongue on occasion, but otherwise it stays true to it roasty roots. A lacto impression as well, though not sour at all. Hopping is negliable.
Medium thick and creamy body. Pretty hefty for the style. The bulk provides the only form of memorability here.
Standard and straightfoward, but not bad.

Brown shade, reddish highlights, short-lived beige head, smallish, soapy retention, few specks of lace. Small nose
but it does have promise, a mild blend of licorice and chocolate. Decent palate, dry, mild chocolate malt, moderate roastedness, the hops are supportive and well placed
they add to a relativity complex finish, slightly bitter. Medium body, light carbonation creates an adequate mouthfeel. Overall, Artist Colony Ale is simple, good, and drinkable. Its worth a try.

Surprisingly light overall aroma, largely of dark mild roast malt with a light backing of hops. Dark brown color, mostly clear. Light red shade in light. Smaller thinner head, somewhat fizzy. Taste is a mix of dry, yet deep dark maltiness. It is consistent start to finish. Has a bock like quality of caramel. Has fuller mouthfeel in part due to carbonation. Overall a smooth, yet dry brew. One of the better examples of style ( IMHO possibly a Southern English brown?). A well made beer.

Presentation: 12 oz brown bottle, on the side is a blurb about the beer and how it is not filtered or pasturized. No freshness date to be found.
Appearance: Reddish brown n colour with a simple yet sufficing tan lace.
Smell: Creamed coffee from the roasted malts.
Taste: Medium bodied with a mild roasted palate. Crisp and smooth with hints of chocolate and coffee on the tounge. Just enough hops to keep the brew in balance and a twang in the finish from the roasted malts to keep thing interesting.
Notes: A decent Brown Ale that goes down real smooth glass after glass ... good pick for any brown ale lover.
