I first need to note that my first six Stone City Brewing reviews are dedicated to my co-workers who purchased these for me. Skoal!
(2nd, I do have a bit of a cold that hopefully won't be too much of a problem).
Aroma has a nice mix of light malt with spicy hop blended in well. It has a fresh and clean quality to it. Big full white head, light gold in color (it looked almost white while pouring, then darkened in the glass) that seems slightly cloudy (noted on label as bottle conditioned). Taste has a nice German/Czech quality to it. Very nice start of light malt then the hops kick in for the middle and finish, which is medium dry with mild lingering. Not as crisp as others, but still some astringency to give it a bit of a refreshing quality. Thinner mouthfeel, but adequate carbonation gives some fullness. Good American version of style. If I ever find myself in Iowa City again, especially in July, this will do just fine.

Presentation: 12 oz brown bottle, on the side is a blurb about the beer and how it is not filtered or pasturized. No freshness date to be found.

Appearance: Pale golden straw in colour with a fluffy white head that leaves chunks all around the glass.

Smell: Sweet malt with a spicy floral nose not as aromatic as some Czech Pils though still clean.

Taste: Light to medium body, nice crisp mouthfeel. Pleasing spicy bite of hops surround the taste buds. Some residual dextrins in the mouth feel, though all and all this is a dryish brew. Hops keep on giving ... and end up leaving a everlasting aftertaste along with some trace graininess.

Notes: This brew grows on you ... comes close to mustering up to some of the imported pils these days.
