Batch 244 in a 50cl bottle. Brewed on 17 Sep 09, best before 20 Sep 11. Popped the cap and encountered a volcano. An absolute gusher. Had to place the bottle in the sink to wait for it to settle down. Once things were under control and I was able to finish the pour into an imperial pint glass, I ended up with an extremely dark ruby red/brown brew with an enormous tan head. Not much in the way of lacing.
The smell features a bitter dark chocolate, dark fruit and Christmas spices (ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, coriander). An inviting holiday/winter warming/spiced beer aroma.
Nissemor's taste profile is mellow and subdued chocolate, plums, stewed pears, raisins, cocoa powder or baker's chocolate. I did not find the holiday spices to be as prevalent in the taste. They are there in the background, however, as the beer is given a chance to warm some. Not quite as complex and enjoyable as its companion Nissefar, but a nice Christmas beer nonetheless. Finished with a nice, dry, ginger-like snap.
Mouthfeel is lively with much carbonation that gradually eases a bit as things settle. The beer is pleasant and somewhat on the thinner side compared with some other Christmas beers, but overall enjoyable. Very drinkable and a good one for sipping on a cold December day.

500 ml brown bottle, Vinmonopolet. Batch #46. Bottle conditioned. Dark brown colour. Huge and creamy long-lasting tan head. Pleasant aroma of roast malts, dried fruits, mild coffee and chocolate. Flavour has also plenty of roast malts, moderately sweet, with coffee and dark bitter chocolate in the long aftertaste. Good beer, but Nissefar is even better.
