440 ml can, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 11.6%. Dark brown colour, small beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel, oak, aquavit and spices. Rich flavour, moderately sweet, with the same elements as the aroma. Very moderate hops.

On tap at Churchkey in Washington, DC.
This one pours a very dark brown color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like dried fruit, like raisin or plum, botanicals, some floral aromas, molasses, oak, citrus, and general spice.
If I had a nickel every time I saw an Aquavit barrel aged triple bock on a draft list…well, I’d have this one nickel. This is weird but it works well. It’s quite malty, slightly fruity, and has a nice subtle botanical influence from the barrels. There’s oak, floral tastes, spice, black pepper – lots of interesting things from the barrel here. There’s caramel and molasses galore from the bock itself.
This has a low but still pleasant level of carbonation, with a nice drinkability, and not that much booziness.
I had kind of forget about this brewery – it’s cool to see they’re still making weird but tasty beers way up north.
