A: nice deep copper color with good head that eventually falls away but remains up long enough to smell the hop aroma.

S: subtle hop with a strong sweet malt similar to some belgian Triples.

T: well balanced beer that is a little high in alcohol that isn't really noticed until half the growler is gone. Tastes sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet.

M: there is a little alcohol warmth and it feels slightly oily, not thick but it has a nice body to it.

O: If you're in town this is a great place to visit and this is a stellar beer to drink I can down half a growler and not realize it until the alcohol catches up with me I'd definitely recommend paying them a visit for this beer and their others. Get a pint of this and a flight of the rest.

On tap from Lafayette Brewing Co.

Poured into a snifter, about a 2 finger foamy head that retained and laced very well. Color was of a deep amber, almost brown, but with definite reds hints. Scents were of slight sweetness and cascade hops on the end. Taste is just like the smell, but with hints of chocolate malts. Very subtle chocolate flavor mixing with slight to moderate hops bitterness provide a very satisfying drinking experience.

Weight is a little heavy, but holds the 8% very well. Goes down creamy and smooth with adequate amounts of carbonation. Overall, a very solid brew that I would not classify as an Old Ale, more of an Amber, but is enjoyable either way.

Poured from growler to American Craft Pub Glass i bought as a set from Bed Bath and Beyond haha, good glasses and got them for a 1/4 the online msrp price.

A - Red/amber in color with low carbonation and slight head (but hey its from a growler)

S - Smells of Carmel, plums? sort of doublebockish, sweet malts

T - Taste of a balance of carmel and dark fruit with a deep alcohol bite (8% ABV)

M - Medium-Full bodied with little carbonation left leaves a smooth taste that doesnt beg me to drink more.(not dry, the beer is good)

Overal this beer is pretty good, good for this cold weather, as the alcohol makes you warmed up fast. Id recommend it

had on tap...live review

a=semi hazy bloody orange color. half finger sandy head. spotty lacing through and through as i drink.

s= sweet caramel malts on this. light bitter hops on the back end. like sweet dark fruits.

t= sweet citrus hops come clashing together with bittersweet malts. some extract taste and not much else...hohum tasting.

m=medium mouthfeel. carbonation is a little lacking. sweetness left on both the palate and in the aftertaste. light drying on the palate.

d=the beer was forgetable...taste like some homebrew....not much else.

A strong pour from the growler gets an inch of beige head that fades to a skim in a couple of minutes. A decent head for a growler poured beer. Body is an attractive orange amber shade. Nose really resembles a nut brown ale with nutty richness and a soft but solid malt profile. They really hit the style on the head with the taste as it brings some dark fruity notes up front. Intertwined with the fruit are bold nutty and mineral notes. Solid and consistent malt profile carries some creamy phelonic notes on the back of the palate. At 8% the alcohol is no where in the taste. Finishes silky and rich on the tongue which leaves a beautiful mouthfeel. Exceptional drinkability as me and my wife had no problem finishing the growler. I will pick this one up any time I get a chance.
