500ml swingtop bottle. side of the front label has a date scheme, but none of it is marked or notched. the back label has a "best by" date of 12/02/09 (feb 12th) however. (tasted in late feb 09)
dark coppery amber. almost clear (sediment in the bottle). 1-finger head fades to wisps and ring. some sparse lacing.
aroma is simple: faint caramel, faint hops.
tastes of toasted malts with hint of caramel. faint hopping with mild bitterness. meets a momentary trace of acidity.
not too thin, but not entirely smooth either. moderate carbonation.
