A: Pale lemon, thin whispy white head, with a spacious light rise of carbonation. Good lace stickage along the vessel walls leaving speckled open window dressing.

S: Decent little twang of sour citrus, wheat and some sour orange. Light to moderate.

T: The flavor was quite nice, little citrus sour twang, wheat, decent crispness with some sweetness.

M: Mouthful was crisp around the tongues edges, leans towards the lighter side substance wise.

O: Overall this won't wow you but was enjoyable to drink, refreshingly tart and citrusy, decent summer quencher to relax, throw back with light conversation. good try.

An interesting brew that I simply had to try.

A-Slightly hazed bright golden straw yellow with a thin white head that reduced to a thin ring and left no lace. Interesting bubble action.

S-Brilliant lemongrass pop with light underlying sweet biscuit malt. Very fresh and pungent.

T-Tart with a light sourness and a bitter lemon-lime smack. Biscuit malt support underneath helps smooth things out. I can equate this to a Sprite in beer form.

M-Light bodied sharp and crisp with pleasant lingering tartness.

D-Wow! Without question the best beer I have ever had at UBW. The ultimate summer drinker. I didn't have a growler with me, and they were out of their own, so I begged and pleaded to get a fill with what I had in my truck....that being two 32 oz. Propel Water bottles! Much to my delight they agreed so I was on my way to share this delicious nectar with my tasting group.

Poured via "growler" fill on 8/12/09, courtesy of Deuane. Actually, this was dispensed from a plastic Propel Fitness Water jug!

A - Poured a slightly hazy pale straw-colored body with a thin ring of white bubbles that quickly disappeared and left virtually no lacing on the glass.

S - Dominant lemongrass aroma, much like a lemon-lime soda. Extremely fruity and citrusy overall, with not much else happening.

T - Again, tons of fresh lemongrass dominates the flavor with a mildly tart, sour character reminiscent of citrus fruit. Hint of sweet malts and toasted grains emerge in the backend.

M - Light bodied with a thin, watery texture and moderate carbonation, resulting in a slight bristly mouthfeel. Mildly tart on the palate with a bit of sour pucker.

D - Really flavorful, albeit one-dimensional, ale from Union Barrel Works. While it literally screams lemongrass, I think they accomplished their mission with this beer. This is a very pungent, flavorful brew with just tons of lemongrass character.
