A: Murky ice tea color has a thin, bubbly beige head that caps well with some retention. Light isolated instances of carbonation lingers about while the lacing is sparse on the coverage offering but a few whispy splashes.
S: The aroma is light with sweet toasty grains, perhaps Vienna? that was moderate in strength. Sweet toasted grains with a Vienna type of sweetness more so then munich.
T: Lightly bready, really clean flavor wise with just enough toastedness to give it some flavor while maintaining a light drinking affair by the pitcher. Things end with a small flash of noble flowers
M: light to medium, with a quiet state of carbonation. A show of noble flowers partake on the tongue upon the swallow.
O: Sweet toasted grain base maintains flavor while lending to its true intention as a high consumption rate that is easy on the down. Good level of balance clean and light.

On tap, sixtel
It's hard to believe this is an Oktoberfest beer, it tastes more like a typical lager more than anything.
Pours a little flat, pump up the CO2 for more head appearance. I was advised to do this when I purchased it. Decent color
Sweet aroma, nothing too pronounced here.
Flavor was okay. Not in the lines of a marzen, but not bad. Again, sweetness comes through
Carbonation and bite should definitely be more involved. I can't determine why this is a marzen. A little more thought to the style could have been established. It was okay to drink, and actually, most people liked it. But, definitely not to style.

On tap @ at the brewpub on 10/24/09. Served in a pint glass via an awesome looking Uncle Fester tap handle, complete with a lightbulb in his mouth!
Pours a deep amber, with a finger of frothy egghshell white colored head. Solid retention throws a nice looking smattering of lace up on the sides of the glass. The aroma has a strong bready and eggy smell to it, more toasty than sweet, with a touch of citrus, and some lighter floral spicy hop character mixed in.
Sweetness comes out more in the taste, with a flush of toasty malts across the palate. Noble hop character is much more aggressive here, giving this a festive spicy bitterness. The finish is a tad more sweet than dry. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, maybe a bit lighter, with a gentle sharpness to it and relatively easy feel.
Not bad. I wish that this had a bit more evenness between the aroma and taste, and the body could have used a touch more beef, but for the most part this was decent and quite drinkable. Plus I have to give them points for actually getting creative with the name, instead of justing calling this "Oktoberfest" like every other place seems to.
