Hop Disciples – Rotating Hop Project takes a bright, clean IPA and puts a different hop variety at the forefront of the sensory experience every year. The inaugural release features Idaho 7, which shows up punching with aromas of orange zest and stone fruit complemented by a hint of black tea leaves in an uncharacteristic element of subtlety. Hop Disciples may look tough on the outside, but with its golden blonde hue and approachable 6.2% ABV, we promise it’s a lover not a fighter.

I'm always enthusiastic about any beer from Great Divide. I'm grew up in Denver during the late 90s and on through the explosion of American Craft. GD has always been a step above in industry standard. This IPA jumped into my shifter full of life, a pale yellow, 3% cloud, happy coagulated eperfesant charge, tight and rocky bubbles, white head, moderate lacing, bright, herbed tea, lemon, white pepper, mango, barnyard, cracker, dry, medicinal, alive with creamy mouthfeel, pleasant and forward, aggressive, and noble West Coast cousin.

I was afraid that I might be a little late to the party on this one, but not so. This still tastes amazing on March 24.
It pours yellow, foamy and fizzy, with exceptional, fine bubbles. The aroma is a earthy ale darkness. I wonder if fresher were better. The taste is bitter, chewy hops bomb. Outstanding, with a bitter fresh finish.
Highly recommended.

Pours a clear gold with a very slight haze and a white head. Smells of hops, citrus, and pine. Tastes of fresh hops, orange zest, black tea (I would not have even thought of this flavor if it weren't for the description but it's very apparent if you know what to look for), pine, and a night light malt base. Medium in both body and carbonation. Overall a very nice single hops IPA.

From the bottom of the can: "CANNED ON JAN06 2017 09:33 IDAHO"
Appearance: The body is a very cloudy, opaque golden yellow. The head is large, thick, white, and creamy textured with a few pockmarks. The head has very good retention and lacing.
Aroma: It smells a lot like the oil on the outside of a hop bine which is very strong. It has a strong lemon aroma as well. The strong nose on this beer is very impressive.
Taste: The flavor closely matches the aroma with a deep earthy tea leaf and lemon flavor. The flavors seem to pop out of the beer and they are very strong.
Mouthfeel: The beer has moderate bitterness and a slightly resinous texture to the beer with a wet and light bodied finish.
Overall: It is an outstanding beer and it both smelled and tasted so good that I had to look up the hop used in this beer (Idaho 7). It is a very noteworthy beer that has a lot of earthy tea-like flavor with a strong lemon flavor that just jumps out. The hop variety used in this beer has a ton of character and this beer does a fantastic job of showcasing it. Although the beer was canned almost 6 months ago it is still packed with aroma and flavor and it is worth picking up. I will be looking for more beers brewed with this hop.

12 oz can at the 2017 Aiken Bluegrass Festival.
Hazy amber body topped by a large white fluffy head. Sticky lacing.
Strong hop flavor and aroma with high, but not excessive bitterness.
Some floral, citrus, herbal and pines notes in the hoppy flavor.
