Hop Disciples – Rotating Hop Project takes a bright, clean IPA and puts a different hop variety at the forefront of the sensory experience every year. The 2018 release features Ekuanot, which features a strong tropical fruit flavor with aromas of citrus and herbs. Hop Disciples may look tough on the outside, but with its golden blonde hue and approachable 6.2% ABV, we promise it’s a lover not a fighter.

Clear, golden body with a thick, sticky, white head; rings and globs of foam adhering to the glass. Mild citrus and grass-like aroma with a bit a sweet caramel malt smell lurking in the background. Bitter, spicy flavor; mint-like tones; peppery. Medium body; tickles the palate with carbonation and boozy bitterness; semi-sweet in nature.

A decent one-hop IPA although it does seem a little one-dimensional with little complementary malt counterpoint to the sharp hop presence.

Clear straw gold in color. Head is with and foamy thick with great retention. Seem like you can lay a penny on it without it sinking. Carbonation is cascading to the to relentlessl

The nose is fruity and a bit floral. bitterness is light and end in a pineapple medley.

Taste is mostly piney hops with some very subtle citrus fruits and rinds. Bitterness lingers.

Mouthfeel is smooth crisp and well carbonated.

12oz, canned on JAN25 2018. Tall & frothy head slowly fades atop a pale golden ale. Nose is mainly lemon zest and faint pine, but it smells good. Lemon is prominent in flavor also with notes of mango, pineapple, passion fruit, and faintly nutty/honey-ish Munich malt. Medium body, resinous and dry finish. Overall, I really like this - it's very refreshing with some good flavors.

Canned on 1/25/18. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a light pale golden with nice clarity and has bubbles racing upwards; creamy eggshell white head that falls leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are subtle with some hints of citrus, crackers and bread. Malts are there. The flavors are clean, crisp, sharp and refreshing. Solid hop bitterness. More subtle hints of citrus. Some pine and fresh grass in the mix. Malts do their thing, but don't diminish the hop bitterness. Finishes dry. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is nice. It's on the lighter side of medium-bodied with fluffy active carbonation. It's smooth and easy to drink.

This is an alright IPA. I personally like the first vintage from their Hop Disciples series much more, but the craftsmanship is on point and makes this one enjoyable and fun to drink.

This beer pours a pale gold with a large head. The aroma is gentle and lead by pineapple, roses, mango, lavendar, and soap. The flavor starts with a decent dollop of bitterness, as well as pine, pineapple, mango, and a mild floral quality. The mouthfeel is fairly light with gentle foamy carbonation. Overall this is a decent beer, but a little muddled and lacking in vibrancy.
