Hop Disciples – Rotating Hop Project takes a bright, clean IPA and puts a different hop variety at the forefront of the sensory experience every year. The 2019 release features Callista, which showcases floral and tropical notes with hints of citrus and pine. Hop Disciples may look tough on the outside, but with its golden blonde hue and approachable ABV, we promise it’s a lover not a fighter.

Can dated 1-22-19 into pint glass. Pours a hazy golden amber with a modest but persistent off-white head. Initial impression is peach, and passionfruit, with a touch of grapefruit, orange, and maybe mango. Mouthfeel is medium, as is carbonation. Finish is smooth and somewhat sweet. Very enjoyable - my first callista IPA and a good 'un!

Quite a nice, bright, crisp IPA from a great reliable brewery. Pours a nice slightly darker golden color with some nice fluffy white head and spotty lingering lacing. Smells of some light pine and citrus hops with a little malt, caramel and floral hops at the end. Taste follows the nose - and the citrus mainly consists of grapefruit, orange, lemon, tangerine and pineapple. Crisp, flavorful but not as fruity or juicy or sweet as I would have liked. Also lacked a little depth. Clean, crisp, mild, slightly thin mouthfeel and decent carbonation. Not bad, I just expected a little more from Great Divide.

CAN nabbed for $0.99 at Total Wine & More, Austin, TX:
Peach, sap, floral notes, melon, stonefruit, berry. It's an interesting hop profile, but this drinks far more like a pale ale in terms of hop pungency than it does an IPA proper. A hint of orange.
Lacks the bold pungent hop profile it really needs to stand out against the best IPAs out there (even just comparing it to others from Colorado alone), but it's drinkable enjoyable fare for what it is. Has an uncommon hop profile, which is a selling point these days.

Canned February 13th 2019.
It pours a hazy orange gold with a very healthy head of foam and lacing.
I smell melon, oranges, flowery hop notes, bread and sweet malt.
The taste, unfortunately, reflects less of the hops character and more of an older malt character. You know, when an IPA has been sitting on a warm shelf for too long; that's the case here.
Orange zest and melon are there but muted. It's not my cup of tea as is.
Mouthfeel good.
That's the chance that I take when building my own 6pack...

From a can (canned 12/17/2018). Nice amber hue, deep. Aroma is sweet, malty, toasty. Up front you're hit with what tastes like a lager with a hint of hops. The bitterness disippates immediately and you're left with a wet, malty finish. The carbonation is super fine.
I'm not a fan.

On tap. Poured out a clear, orange/amber color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of citrus, pine and toasted caramel. Sweet citrusy taste with a toasted caramel finish.
