Canned February 20th 2020.
Pours a clearish dark gold with a steady head of foam, with some nice lacing.
The smell is of the cherry puree with a lot of grape wine barrel aromas. Add caramel malt and overall, it comes across as quite sweet.
The taste is also on the sweet side initially. Caramel malt, cherry puree, and then, some Belgian spices move in. Some cloves, mostly, grape wine also contributes from the barrel aging. Alcohol is not hidden very well..definite warming during the swallow. I reckon, overall, that the flavours are well integrated.
Feels full bodied at times, carbonation is fairly soft.
Very pricey for a 16 ounce can..over $11 if I remember correctly. Good but not worth the price of a revisit.
