Dark brown with golden edges and piles of foam. Lush and sudsy mouthfeel. According to the brewer this is an "Oatmeal brown ale." It's an appealing idea, not as burnt as the usual Oatmeal Stouts, but more robust and grainy. It is pretty far-fetched to call this an English brown ale, in case you were thinking of a Mild or even Newcastle. It's also very strong; the current version is 6.8%.
Warm and malty with lingering sweetness and a touch of burnt sugar. Dark roasted taste, caramel, and a grainy finish. Aroma of dark grain with hops in the nose. Quite drinkable and the creamy carbonation gives it even more appeal. From the 32 oz crowler can filled at the brewery.
