Poured from a mini-growler into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very hazy golden amber with a thin white head that dissipates to patches, leaving slight lacing; looks like a NE style IPA. Aroma of citrus and dank hops with tropical and citrus fruit, leaning towards pineapple, lemon and orange. Flavor is bready and pale malt, citrus, dank and tropical fruit hops, orange citrus, pineapple, light stone fruit and pine. Finishes with lingering mixed herbal fruit and citrus hop bitterness. Nice medium body with moderate creaminess; good mouthfeel. There is a lot going on in this IPA, it's surprisingly complex. There are elements of tropical fruit NE style IPA (as suspected from the appearance), with hints of pine and moderate citrus hops from the West Coast style. And yet it all comes together into an interesting herbal hop amalgam supported by a very nice full bodied malt. Skookum has been hitting it with IPAs and this one is a winner. A really nice, complex fresh hop that stands out in this wealth of fresh hop ales this season. This collaboration series has been really excellent.
