Bomber at share. Dark brown pour with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a nice hit of warmth. Taste is simple straightforward barley wine, malty, brown sugar, tobacco. slow burn. No adjuncts, just really nice.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip

A- pours brown in color with a one-finger foamy brown head that has short retention

S- bold barrel aromas give notes of barrel juice and sharp wet oak, followed by malty notes of caramel, toffee, tobacco, raisins and figs. Undertones of vanilla and brown sugar

T- big and bold malty notes up front, starting with a wave of toffee and caramel chews, followed by dar fruit notes of rum soaked raisins and figs. Black strap molasses, chocolate and tobacco follow, along with a bold oaky bourbon note. The finish gives more caramel and toffee, with boozy bourbon sticking around on the linger

M- medium-heavy body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a warming, viscous finish

O- a bold and complex sipper that is well balanced with the barrel

12 oz. bottle. Pours brown. Smells of whiskey, brown sugar, lots of alcohol, fruitiness. Tastes of bourbon, sweet dark fruits, brown sugar, oak. Sweet, boozy, and fruity. Slow and difficult to drink. Very boozy. Alcohol and sugar make it too difficult to drink.

This one pours a semi-murky brown color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like caramel candy, bourbon soaked Heath bars, chocolate, oak spice, and vanilla.

This is pretty exceptional. There's a very nicely integrated barrel character here, it folds into the heavy duty malt backbone very well, with caramel, melted toffee, and sweet bourbon flavors, along with lighter tones of chocolate and vanilla.

This is medium bodied, with a nice warmth to it, and a very good drinkability for the style.

I definitely need to try the regular ol' Heavy is the Head to see how they differ, but in a vacuum, this is stupid good.
