When you get here for the first time it's almost like a revelation. The microbrewery is located in the city center, but it's definitely not the place you stumble over; you have to know where to go! The atmosphere of the place is great. Always a lot of people, and like every place in Norway no one smokes!
To top it all the beer is really good! The selection is nothing special, but they have something for every need. I was there yesterday and had a stout, an IPA and the season beer "Vårøl" (spring beer in English), which I think was an Altbier. They were all very good; the IPA had a very nice flavor of hops, the stout was a bit mild, but the tastes were perfectly balanced, and last but not least the "Vårøl" had a smoked flavor which certainly satisfied me.
I have never had any food at this place, but rumor has it it's tasty. And for those in the know the hop and malt types are listed in the menus. It's pricey, but I wouldn't call it expensive after Norwegian standards: a beer costs 64 NOK (close to 10 dollars).
