Tried this beer by half-pint on 19 April 05 at my London EastEnd local, the Half Moon (a Wetherspoon pub). The beer was one of the occasional guest ales there.
Appearance: amber-coloured, with foamy, lasting beerhead, but not 100% clear...
Smell: nothing special to write home about--not noticeable maltiness and quite faint in terms of all kinds of notes...
Taste: Nice!!--especially after spending quite some time trying hard to observe and sniff the beer (only in vain...): said to be brewed with English Fuggles and American Nugget hops, it has "vertical" hoppy palate, mixed with the kind of bitterness of crshed lemon/lime seeds and also that of straws when chewed in the mouth.
Aftertaste: oh...the best part of the beer--deep, firm, overwhelming bitterness in throat, with a hint of roasted grain in the background. Very balanced and very fulfilling.
Drinkability: definitely refreshing and thirst-quenching!
