This isn't my go-to style of beer, but I'm glad I gave it a shot. This is what I would expect to find in an English pub. And for the ABV it's relatively cheap, but that might be because I bought it less than 20 miles from the brewery.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a medium to dark orange amber with a fine, half-finger light khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of sweet biscuit malt, raisins, plums and a hint of molasses. Flavor follows, with biscuit and light caramel malt, dark dried fruit dominated by raisins and plums and light molasses, finishes semi-dry and malty. Nice creamy body with a great mouth feel. Aroma and flavor are both classic old ale, with a traditional malt base and pleasant dark fruit flavors. Very well balanced and integrated and the high ABV is very well covered. A well made, rich and enjoyable old ale and one that should be sampled at room temperature to bring out the great flavors.
