Served in a dimpled mug at the brewpub in Mukilteo, pours a bright clear orange amber with no head. Nose has a little spicy eye and some other more hoppy spiciness...not a lot of depth, but quite pleasant and promising. Taste follows...this is on the lighter side for a rye, well carbonated with a hop bill that tends more toward the piney than the citrusy, but lightly so. Lacks the richer bready notes some rye beers bring, and is surprisingly light and easy drinking, easy clean notes. Happy I chose this one.

I had this beer on-tap in a dimpled mug at the Mountlake Terrace brewery.
Appearance: rich copper hue with just a dash of haze and a thin layer of ivory foam. Great color.
Smell: lightly sweet and toasty with a nice malt character.
Taste: dry and toasty with a definite spicy rye character. Hops are dank, earthy and moderately bitter. Very autumnal; I like it.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a rather good creaminess. I dig it.
Overall: I like this beer. The bitterness is a little rough, but the rye element is well done.

A good hoppy Rye IPA. some spiciness front he rye makes it into this beer, but the classic piney c-hops really overwhelm the palate making this beer eminently drinkable and reasonably complex, but too hoppy to let the grain bill shine to its full potential. A little dry for my taste as well, but a good beer worth tying if your ever at the brewpub.

On tap at Mukilteo Brewpub several times this week.
A nice deep amber nearly mahogany, decent off-white head with rimmimg retention. Nice complex nose, more like a strong ESB but the first sip says "I am a kickass bitter Rye!" Seriously, this beer was more bitter (50 IBU) than their ESB or their Industrial IPA in my repeated comparison. Bold and complex dark roasted malts, with Cascade, Amarillo and Chinook hops. The only problem with drinking this beer is that everything following it pales in comparison.
