one of the better brews from cascade. yeah, i know thats not saying much.
a sweet flowery aroma that loses some intensity as it warms.
pours with a minimal head that reduces to a fine lacing. very little carbonation. very clear amber in color.
malty sweetness in the flavor balanced by the hops, except the hops have almost a sour taste more than bitterness.
for an amber ale i expected it to be bit smoother and more rounded in flavor. seems like a lager brewery interpretation as it is fairly crisp.

number two in the four seasons range, and what rubbish it is. a total waste of ingredients. considering these guys are supposed to have access to the top malt, water and hops, they do a great job of making the worst beer possible. this is such a nothing beer its not funny.

it started full of promise.i liked the deep amber color that resembled dry autumn leaves, and had a foamy white head that had me thinking i might be in for a good one.this was till i put it to the nose, and there was nothing there. i may as well have been sniffing a glass of water. the taste was as bland as they come, malt barely detectable, no fruitiness, and that the caramel/ nut like flavours which should be par for the course with an amber ale i couldnt find even if id hired sherlock holmes to help me. there were some hops there, but why? why bother putting hops in a beer with no spine?

considering the price of this beer, its a rip off. absolute daylight robbery. look to james squire amber, or even monteiths red for a beer of this style that does the job a whole lot better. and if someone ever offers you one of these (fortunately theres not many left), just go get something from the tap. its cheaper and a whole lot more enjoyable.

I admit to be a sucker for an amber but still feel this is one of the best beers to come out of Australia. Not overpowering but a very flavoursome medium bodied beer. I had it bottled first but on tap, as always, it was even better. No lingering bitterness. It's not a complex beer by any means I agree but still I believe a cut above

Claims to be an "amber ale". Gold in colour, sweet lagery taste, fizzy and bland, similiar in taste to anything else from Cascade, sweet malts noticed, with some hops i suppose, i don't understand how people can get excited about their Four seasons range. They all taste the same, and are extremely boring, arse in a glass.
