Copenhagen 16/11 2022. 33 cl bottle from Craftmakers Collective web-shop. Black label with a horizontal red stripe and Highland Park’s logo in silver.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small beige head. Stable. Settles as 0,3 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of dark fruit mingling with a salty kelp-like quality and a bit of bitter coffee. Raisins and plums. Dark alcohol. Peat and salt water.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, viscous, soft, smooth, creamy texture.
Flavor is fairly intense as the beer warms up. A strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Potent Stout with imperial aspirations and a salty tang of peaty, Northern charm.
