This special beer is a full-bodied and characterful tribute to the traditional red beer in all its beauty. A well-chosen mix of different malt types gives the beer its complexity with a touch of hops.

Copenhagen 20/8 2022. 50cl bottle from Fakta, Frederiksundsvej, Kbh. NV. Red version of Braunstein's usual design.
Pours slightly unclear dark amber with a small white head. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, sugary, malty odor mingling with toasted scent. Caramel, toffee and brown sugar. Toasted bread. Sourish grains rummaging in the background.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a lighter tart bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a bitter undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
Decent if somewhat generic Red Lager.
