Copenhagen 21/3 2020. 50 cl bottle from Lidl, Lygten. Simple label made out to look handwritten declaring that this is locally produced on Sealand. As the beer is brewed contractually at Braunstein in Køge it is actually true.
Pours slightly unclear yellow with a medium-sized white head. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense, very much on the malty side with lighter fruity notes. Caramel, bread, cardboard with hints of brown sugar. Light notes of lemon. Grainy sourness.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, oily, lively texture.
Flavor is medium intense. Rather strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet. Lingers for a bit. Sweet finish.
Nothing extraordinary. But a solid malty Easter beer. Not bad for a Lidl Beer.
