The supermarket group in Denmark called COOP have re-released their brand “Pokal” in a new version, where it originally was a cheap and low quality beer, it is not targeted the growing market for special brews.

Copenhagen 2/7 2017. 50 cl bottle from Fakta. The usual design for the re-branded Pokal-series in light blue. By the way re-branded in a OK way where it is clearly stated what brewery is behind and that it is brewed on behalf of COOP.
Pours slightly hazy golden yellow with solid white head. Quite bubbly. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of fluffy foam. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is sweet and sour. Sweet lemonade with strong citric notes. Dominated by a candy-like sweetness. Sourish notes in the background.
Medium strong carbonation and watery palate.
Flavor is rather sweet followed by very light bitterness. Aftertaste is short and sweet.
Quite generic take on a Witbier from Braunstein.
