Copenhagen 10/4 2016. 33 cl bottle from Fakta, Frederiksborgvej, Kbh. NV. As "Braunstein Økologisk Hvede". Braunstein usual label design with no nonsens off-white label with a blue rim.

Pours hazy orange-ish yellow with a white head. Stable. Settles as a 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. No lacing,

Aroma is lightly sweet with citric notes of oranges. A light sourness chiming in.

Medium strong carbonation and a watery palate. Lively and tingling texture.

Flavor is mainly sweet and lemonade-like. Balanced by a citric sourness.

Pleasant and summerlike and easy to drink.

The ale is clouded orange toned amber, has a fluffy white head that leaves good lacing and has some curtains.

The smell is orange, almost Fanta, and spices, coriander and clove.

Tasting sweet, bitter orange marmalade, some "c" spices, some orange peel.

Medium high carbonation, foamy small bubbles, soft and sticky, a medium body, a somewhat dryish finish.

A slightly too sweet orange beer. Can probably attract many, but not really me.

A: Pours pale murky orange with a large airy but still creamy white head. Slow dissipation leaves decent lacings.

S: Yeast and spices, but a bit to mild for my taste (or in this case; smell). An off-smell that reminds me of Rauchbier (but in Rauchbiers it's nice; here - not so much).

T: Full and mild at the same time. Lots of wheat but it falls flat after just a little while. Yeast and spice (coriander). Ripe bananas and some citric notes.

M: Aftertaste is sour and bitter, but also rather long. Body is smooth and rather full (for this style) while the carbonation is quite mild (for this style).

O: Well, the Danes still have a lot to learn from the Belgians... This one is like a mix between Dunkelweizen (eventhough it's pale) and Witbier, the refreshing feeling is replaced by heavyness.

The beer pours with a fizzing sound. It is cool pale yellow with a hint of orange (15 EBC), the liquid is cloudy. The gigantic head is off-white and compact topped by a fine crater. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing.

The smell is quite dry with some yeasty flavours, some bitter notes, spicy notes of cloves and some hints of old fashioned soap. Raw meats in the background.

The taste is first quite heavy, almost like a weizenbock with a delicate sour-sweet-bitter flavour. Spicy hints of cloves and coriander. The aftertaste is malty and sweet with some estery flavours of fruit candy and phenolic soap. The finish is sweet and a bit wheat-sour.

The carbonation is mild, the bubbles small and smooth. The liquid is a bit thick and sticky.

Compared the classic Belgian wittbiers, this one is a bit too sweet with not enough of the tart wheat notes. A bit too heavy.
