Copenhagen 19/10 2016. 50 cl bottle from Fakta. Another installment in Braunsteins revival of the Pokal brand. This time celebrating the German marathons in beer drinking.
Pours dark amber with a thick, fluffy white head. Stable. Settles as a 1 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing on the side of the glass.
Aroma is sweet with burnt caramel, brown sugar and slightly metallic.
Medium strong carbonation and watery palate. Lively and tingling texture.
Flavor has an okay balance between sweetness and a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sourish with something slightly burnt.
Not the typical Oktoberfest beer - but not without charm.
