A - A murky brown reddish ale. The yeast is swirling around in my glass. The yellowish foam is disappearing fast.
S - Strong malt syrup scent
T - Strong taste of honey like malts
M - A medium carbonation prickles my palate, there is no real bitterness.
O -A good drinkable strong ale.

Avondrood (evening red), beer from a brewery in Dutch Limburg.
33 cl bottle.
Chestnut brown colour, with a big creamy head, clear ale with good carbonation.
Smell is mild... caramel, slightly roasted malts.
Taste is more interesting: bittersweet with a spicy bite and caramel.
Smooth bittersweet aftertaste
It seems like a typical fall beer to me: warming, a bit sweetness to it.
But it's got a nice carbonation as well.

Tasted at WBF-08 in Gouda, NL.
Appearance is amber, copper with an initial head, that dies after 1 minute.
Smell is full of caramel and light caramel malt. Not the dark sweet caramel that I would expect. Some fruity notes of cherries and maybe pineapple.
Taste is malty with sweet caramalts, dextrinous and big bodied. Now there are some more dark tastes and the beer has some maltbitterness. Alcohol is tasted, but never turns sharp. The fruit that is in the smell now turns into a chewing gum taste, that remind me of dry yeast strains.
