Had multiple samplings of this at White Dog Cafe Foundatoion's Brewer's plate Event at Reading Terminal Market.
A - poured a delecatable midnight black with a frothy brown head, high opacity, letting you kknow you were getting something serious.
S - full nose of roasted molassess and coffee, as well as the allusion of alcohol. From what I wrote don, it was upwards of 11%.
T - really, a heavily malty and smoky chocolate and coffee brew to mingle with the ABV. This brew was great on al lparts of the mouth.
M - a full bodied, sticky brew that was a littel lae for spring, but would warm the mind and body any winter day.
D - despite the high ABV (which limits you) the overall palatabilty of this beer is almost exceptional. This batch was really well balanced, refreshing as well as eye-opening.
Can't wait til next winter!

Poured pitch black with sticky sweet aromas, some fruity esters and roasted malts. Nice light carbonation, no real alcoholic burn for an imperial, maybe its just hidden well. The taste was slightly sweet caramalized sugars with some roasted undertones and a nice nutty finish. The alcohol is again not the main character here as with some others, and the interesting flavor combinations make this a very decent stout offering.

This beer poured a midnight black and no light in the Independence Brew Pub could offer enough light to even let the slightest bit of color through. The head was exceptionally dark brown and thick and it left some very nice lace. Smelled of sweet bubble gum, honey, powdered sugar and of sour unripe fruit. These flavors seemed to be centered around a back bone of a British brown ale. Tasted of highly roasted marshmallows with a camp fire smokiness. The beer finished with a sticky medicinal sweetness and a bit of fish in the exhale. Mouth feel was light to medium bodied with a medium carbonation. This is a very different take on an imperial stout that reminded me of the British versions of this style. If you prefer the British imperial stouts, you may want to give this a whirl. However, if youre more accustomed to Storm King, Yeti, or Stones, avoid this beer at all costs.
