*** Tapped 10/31/06 19.2 original gravity ***
Poured on tap into a mini thumb print mug with a clear mahogany hue topped with craggy tacky lace leaving drippy lace in the glass.
Spice cake nose and brown sugar.
First swigs: Over ripe bananas spice wafer with some grainy raw malt. Chalky touch with a hint of anise flavor with a candi sugar.
Feel is a tad thin and gentle restrained carbonation.
Last swigs: Could be a Dark Belgian Strong but wears the Dubble mask.
Beer is good. Happy Halloween beering.

This beer came a dark cherry color that got progressively lighter toward the bottom of my glass. The head was about a half inch and a creamy light tan. Smelled of creamy sweet marshmallows with a slight plumb sourness. The flavor began with an initial dry coffee zap along the edges of my tongue followed by a lingering creamy caramel, whole-wheat toast and marshmallow malt. The sweetness then fades to a slight over-ripe fruit, mild coffee and a light hint of hops. The mouth feel is light with a creamy carbonation. By far my favorite offering from IBP yet.
