Tasted On-Tap 03/08/06 at the Independence Brewpub. Brewed specially for Ben Franklin's 300th Birthday I believe.

Brownish to black in color with a low tan head and decent carbonation. A decent malty aroma with some light caramel and molassas character. Maltiness dominates in the way that it smells --it is overly sweet and not balanced very well. Medium bodied with a bit of alcohol noticeable.

Sweet and sloppy - not nearly as good as other versions of the Poor Richard's Ale being brewed at many brewpubs around the nation.

Per IB blackboard: 16.4 OG
