Nice location along the river in the old city. The external facade is large, with columns of granite. Enter through an archway in the center of the facade, then through the door on the right. The entrance opens on to the huge room down a small staircase. The brewkettles are to the left, followed by the bar with six or eight barstools. Tables in alcoves line the right wall, with lots more tables in the middle. The floor is gray tile, while the walls are brick, with framed pictures of the coats of arms of the German states. Pipes cross the black ceiling. Metal lamps hang low, providing fairly meager light. A large projection screen and small stage line the wall opposite the door. The service was OK, although it was at times hard to get the waitress' attention. Pop music on the sound system bordered on too loud. The place was nearly full both evenings I was there.
Three standard offerings, of which only two were available when I was there in early March. Both were tasty and in good shape. They were served in tall handleless logo glasses at the right temperature and clearly fresh. Easily a BA's top choice when in Tbilisi, this place could probably hold its own pretty much anywhere (despite the hokey slogan - "Be Wiser, Drink Kaiser").
