330ml Can from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£2.80):
Not a bad English style porter with a nice roasted malts taste that went down pretty smoothly and was kept interesting by the addition of some good, earthy hops but on the downside the beer did seem a little light bodied in places. Overall this one was an enjoyable effort from Three Boys but in truth I'm not sure it's one I'd be all that likely to pick up again soon.

500ml 5.2% ABV -- BB 20 Aug 2014 -- purchased and consumed in NZ in Jan. 2014
Pours near black with a good head.
Feel: Medium body and nicely smooth; well-set, medium-low carbonation.
Aroma: dark roasted malts with some sweetness, more spicy hops than expected. Hints of smoke and dark fruit.
Flavor: similar to the aroma, and again more hoppy than usual for style.
O: a good, slightly spicy porter.

Batch number 1244 and pours a deep cherry cola hue with beautiful carbonation thate leaves behind a creamy two finger head thats stays and leaves heaps of lacing everywhere,the smell is chocolate,coffee and red berries,the mouthfeel is medium bodied smooth and creamy and has tastes of creamy milk chocolate,mocha,choc coated raspberries,blueberries and finished with a milky choc bittersweetness and overall a very pleasant porter and i would buy again cheers.

This pours black with a half finger of beige head.
The expected coffee and chocolate aromas are there but also some fruitiness. Maybe yeast characteristics. Not sure if they work for me.
That fruitiness is much more pronounced on the palate and it really doesn't work. I get hardly any of the dark malt characteristics that I was hoping for.
Very thin for a porter.
Maybe I had a dodgy bottle but this wasn't a great beer.

A - Pours a slightly hazy reddish dark brown with a big fluffy tannish lingering head. Lots of lacing.
S - Sweet caramel malts with bready and toasty smells as well. Moderate fruity esters - makes the beer a little too fruity smelling. Earthy hops.
F/M - Light bready malts, toasty, caramel. Light roast. Moderately high fruity esters. Medium bodied with a slightly thin feel. Dry clean finish.
D - Good drinkabilty, a little bit clean and refreshing, for a dark beer. But the fruity esters and light feel make this beera bit lacking for this style.

A tall 500ml dark green glass bottle. Cooled into a mug. Batch #1128 and a best before date of 12/03/10 (ie March 2010).
Appearance: A standard black body with amber highlights and light apparent carbonation. A fervent tan head with moderate head retention and good lacing.
Smell: A roasted malt body with a coffee nose.
Taste: A roasted malt body and coffee dryness and bitterness. There is a slight presence of hops but its faint and token at best.
Mouthfeel: Drying with the bitterness like most roasted porters but after a while it begins to coat your mouth like a sugary beverage. Unpleasing and highly unlike the other Three Boys Products I have enjoyed in the past.
Drinkability: A light body with excessive "bubbly-ness" and carbonation also see above.
