I had this beer on-tap at the brewery in an old-school pilsner glass.

Appearance: dark golden hue with just a dash of haze and a thin layer of ivory foam atop.

Smell: toasty malt with a fair bit of sweetness and some light hints of pear. Nothing new here, but not too bad.

Taste: malty with a bit of an orchardy fruity character. It doesn’t have too much finesse, but is decent enough.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: while this beer is reasonably okay, it’s just not super interesting to me.

This is a great beer! Definitely my favorite of the limited selection offered at Roslyn Brewing. The smell is excellent and in the style of Belgian abbey ales, sweet and yeasty. Taste includes a malty candi sweetness, light hops, tanginess from the yeast-forward nature of the beer, and also a warming spicy/alcohol aftertaste that is pleasant. Moderate mouthfeel in line with the style.

It's not terribly complex, but something that I will definitely keep in mind for future trips to/through Roslyn.
