The slightly hazy golden yellow colored beer pours out gently into a Duvel glass with a 1 1/2” finely bubbled white head that visibly recedes to a thin cap of foam a ring around the glass, leaving a few scattered speckles of lacing on the sides of the glass. Eventually the cap becomes an irregular island of foam and a ring around the glass. Sipping creates a couple of arches and some scattered legs and small patches of foam.
The aromas are a full of a variety of things and are interestingly complex. There’s some light funk, some lemon, some brine and possibly a bit earthiness. There’s also some very light lactic character along with a touch of the oak.
The flavors are much as expected from the nose with the bit of lemony lightly tart funk. The beer is both lightly tart and lightly sweet at the same time. The lemony tartness also seems to have a bit green orchard fruit character. The oak is there but way in the background and the flavor profile has a slightly tart wine like character. The brine from the salt is always present way in the background
The mouth feel is light and somewhat smooth with only some light finely bubbled carbonation. The finish is lightly tart and semi-dry with its mild lemony tartness and some saltiness in the background. Both persist on the back of the palate for a fairly long time as the rest of the flavors fade away.
Overall a completely enjoyable, drinkable beer that I’d be delighted to have again. It is both light and refreshing and the light salty character plays well with the light tartness. If you like something that is sort of like a gose but not really a gose this is one worth trying.

Bottle. Clear light golden color, a bit of white foam. Aroma has some briney pickle juice, lime and some spices. Taste follows with some grainy malt and briney, tart pickle notes. Light body with high carbonation.

Pungent sour. Hazy yellow. Some light grapefruit and lemon notes. Gets better throughout. Paired with seared Barnegat Scallop.
Spilled some on my shirt.
