Bottle: Poured a reddish color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of nice grapes notes with some oak and sour cherry notes with some acidic notes also perceptible. Taste is a mix of sour cherry notes with nice grapes and oak notes with some vinous notes with quite a bit of acidity also noticeable. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nice presence of grapes but too much acidity at the end of the day.

On tap at Beavertown Extravaganza. Aroma has intense old dusty wood notes with some grapes. Taste is more fruity but the dusty wood is still present. A bit astringent but overall it's well balanced.

another ducato wine grape masterwork. i really like the grapes in here, there are a ton of them, and i always associate the wine they produce with sweeter flavors, and they sure contribute that natural sun ripened sort of juicy sweetness to this beer, not fermented quite as dry as some of their other ones, so they really stand out in both aroma and flavor, very authentic, and of course pretty special with this neat grain bill that at one point yielded one of my favorite beers ever from these guys apparently. this has a neat wild component, more clean and less funky from them, more bacterial less bretty, more bright less mellowing wood, in fact, this isnt oaky at all in either flavor or feel, but isnt lacking for maturity or anything, interesting complexion on this, puckery and a bit acidic but not super sour as they go, balanced out a lot by some residual grapey flavor, and as unique as all of their beer is. we are lucky to have the new goed zuur in denver to serve us beers like this on tap. it aint cheap, the italian stuff never is, but you get what you pay for and this is a gem!
