On-tap at Hollister Brewing
Pours a dark brown color with a finger of khaki colored foam. A solid roastiness to the aroma with hints of dark chocolate and coffee. Not terribly robust, but enjoyable. Similar story with the flavor. Roasted malt and dark chocolate make up the bulk of the flavor with a light sweetness and a few hints of coffee to it as well..

Notes from visit – 12/27/11
*served in Nonic glass
A: Pours a deep rich dark mahogany brown with some lighter garnet hued edges. Thin cap of khaki tan bubbles with some Rorschach lacing.
S: Smells of burnt roasty grains, chocolate and dry roast coffee beans.
T: Nice rich chocolate flavors. Deep roasted malts. Big coffee notes. Slightly sweet but rather light with some detectable hop bitters. Very nice and approachable with nice balance.
M: Thinner body makes for a rather light and sessionable Porter. Creamy texture and dry finish.
D: This was a crowd favorite. Nice rich chocolate and coffee flavors packed into a light bodied easy drinking Porter.
I personally would have preferred something a bit bigger and bolder. Tasty and refreshing none the less.

Pours a cloudy brown with a short, smooth nitro-head. Looks like a lighter-brown Guinness, and probably would be a nice beer to introduce to the Guinness fan.
Smell is mostly roasted malt. Smells like a bowl of Grape Nuts with a splash of coffee.
The taste is more or less the same. Roasty malt and coffee. Not complex at all, but tasty and smooth.
Mouthfeel has that creamy nitro feel to it. Velvety but light.
Drinkability is high. It is creamy enough that you don't feel like downing it too quickly, but light and simple enough that you could easily drink a few over the course of a night.
Inoffensive and simple, but not bad at all. A good gateway craft brew.

Nitro tap at the brewpub. Dark brown with a creamy nitro head. Very faint aroma with some light roast. Roasted flavor with some coffee. Definitely in the light side, but nothing bad in the flavor. Creamy body, but a little thin. Nothing stands out about it, but a solid and drinkable brewpub porter. Pretty drinkable, but I think that the nitro muted it a little.

Poured a deep brown with a very small dirty white head. Nose was a little roasty, some chocolate but yeah nothing to great. Taste was weak, very weak. The beers here are very watery. Not much going on here. Malts, water barley and that is about it. Disappointed.
