Sampled 11/23/2010 at the brewpub.
Pours purple, hazy, low head, no retention. Some bubbles coming up.
Aroma is mostly vinegar, roast, and wine with a little oak. Not many Belgian characteristics in the nose.
Flavor is again heavy on the vinegar, roast, and barrel (both wine-y and oak). Some caramel is present but this is an intense beer that overshadows what ever the base used to be.
Body is heavier than I expected but still close to medium bodied. Drinkability? It'll probably burn the tartar off of your teeth and possibly cause temporary blindness if consumed in excess of 10oz.
